  • R.Ac
    This program provides the graduate with professional training in Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture. Students are taught both classical Acupuncture and modern schools including an exploration of Five Element Acupuncture diagnosis and treatment principles. At CCAOM we believe that a foundational knowledge of the various Oriental Medicine modalities is essential for a successful Acupuncturist. That is why TCM Diet Therapy, Tui Na therapeutic massage, Gua Sha therapeutic scraping techniques, cupping therapy and Jin Shin Do acupressure therapy are all contained within our 3 year diploma of Acupuncture program.   • R.TCM.P
    This program is an extension on our 3 year diploma of Acupuncture. It provides the graduate with more extensive experience in the treatment and differentiation of illnesses using Traditional Chinese Medicine. A more thorough exploration of Chinese herbology is included within this year of study. (Please Note: This is not a definitive list of course offerings. The curriculum below is subject to change.)
  • Dr.TCM
    Gain clinical experience and learn from Classically trained doctors in China! Spend half of your fifth year learning in a hospital setting and studying with clinical experts. This is an extension of our 4 Year Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The focus of the fifth year of study is to deepen the understanding of Chinese herbal therapies, Acupuncture and western medical methods. In addition to the above focus, students will learn modern clinical research methods, advanced TCM modalities, TCM approach to psychology and greater exploration of Classical TCM texts. During the clinical internship component of this fifth year of study students will further solidify their style of treatment in preparation for their future career as doctors of TCM.   • The Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has standing agreements with two Traditional Chinese Medicine University Hospitals in China for externship possibilities. Hospital internships give our students the opportunity to observe specialized doctors utilizing Chinese medicine for a wide range of various disorders. Students who have participated in this option have all reported a deeper understanding and appreciation for the capacity of Chinese medicine.

Fees

The Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine offers the option of completing the programs of study on a full time or part time basis.
