In first year clinical observation students are introduced to aspects of clinical practice. Under the auspices of the third, fourth and fifth year interns, the first year students attend at all phases of the treatment process and are included in discussions between the clinical supervisor, the intern, and the patient. This is the first step in preparing students for their term as interns and ultimately, as practitioners.
